Gwen and Tonya are shown together sitting at Gwen's dining room table. Microphones in front of them, Gwen has her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail and Tonya's chin-length curly slat-and-pepper hair is as tame as it'll ever be. Both women wear glasses, but Tonya's black-and-white frames are much cooler. Tonya has a white denim jacket open over a black T-shirt. Gwen wears a bright teal cardigan over a black tank top. Gwen has bold teal wooden jewelry. Tonya is allergic to jewelry and hopes the cool glasses distract you from her lack of accessories.

One month of The Business You Really Want

Can you believe it’s been a month since we launched The Business You Really Want? Time flies when you’re having fun (and talking about sustainable success for women in business)!

I have to admit, when I pitched this podcast idea to my co-host, Gwen Bortner, I knew it would resonate with our community. But the response we’ve received has blown us both away. In just one month:

  • 192 unique listeners have tuned in
  • We’ve had 308 total downloads
  • 8 effusive Apple reviews have rolled in
  • 24 awesome-sauce folks have subscribed on YouTube

Though I love my stats, these numbers are way more than analytics on our Captivate dashboard. They represent real people (like you!) who are investing their valuable time to listen, respond, and share our message. And for that, Gwen and I are incredibly grateful.

Your support has been the driving force behind our successful launch. So many of you have gone above and beyond to spread the word:

Testimonia quote calling The Business You Really Want a "treasure chest of business knowledge"

And a special shout-out to all of you who’ve left reviews on Apple Podcasts. Your words mean the world to us and help other potential listeners discover the show.

Bible study author Shadia Hrichi said it was exactly what she needed. Another listener called it a “treasure chest of business knowledge.” Meanwhile, Kathy Barbro of Art Projects for Kids said that even after 10 years in business, she’s learning a lot that she can’t wait to apply in real life. And Rhonda Stoppe, an author and speaker who visited my MOPS group when Abby was just a teeny-tiny baby, said she can’t wait to learn more.

As we move into our second month, your continued support can help us reach even more women entrepreneurs. Here’s how you can help:

  1. Leave a review on Apple, Spotify, or Goodpods
  2. Subscribe to your favorite podcast player
  3. Subscribe to our YouTube channel
  4. Comment on your favorite episodes on YouTube
  5. Recommend the show to women in your network

And don’t forget to tag @tonyakubo when you share on social media!

Thank you for being part of our podcast journey. Here’s to many more months of building the businesses we really want!

P.S. Check out this super-listener badge we’ve created just for you! Feel free to share it on social media or anywhere you’d like to recommend the podcast. Right-click or long-press (on mobile) to save it to your device.
