The Business You Really Want is a podcast hosted by Tonya Kubo and Gwen Bortner. Gwen and Tonya are shown together sitting at Gwen's dining room table. Microphones in front of them, Gwen has her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytaial and Tonya's chin-length curly slat-and-pepper hair is as tame as it'll ever be. Both women wear glasses, but Tonya's black-and-white frames are much cooler. Tonya has a white denim jacket open over a black T-shirt. Gwen wears a bright teal cardigan over a black tank top. Gwen has bold teal wooden jewelry. Tonya is allergic to jewelry and hopes the cool glasses distract you from her lack of accessories.

A Podcast for Women in Business

We’re gearing up for Launch Week around here!

Gwen Bortner, founder and CEO of Everyday Effectiveness, and I are launching The Business You Really Want on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024.

Together, we represent two sides of the same coin when it comes to navigating the challenges of running an impact-driven business. Whether front-facing or behind the scenes, we’ve seen it all when it comes to entrepreneurs burning out, calling it quits, and resenting life as a business owner.

Our goal with the show is to empower listeners to leverage their strengths, optimize their operations, and create a business that lights them up so they can make a meaningful impact without misery.

I know quite a bit about marketing podcasts and building community around podcasts, but I don’t know everything. And I’m not ashamed to admit it, either.

So if you’re willing to share your advice, I’m all ears.

If you’re a podcaster, tell me how you handled your launch. What worked? What didn’t? What do you wish you did? And what do you wish you knew before the first episode dropped?

And if you’re not a podcaster, I still want to hear from you. What launch week activities have you seen from podcasters that you thought were particularly creative or effective? Where do you think podcasters miss the boat in launching their podcasts?

In the meantime, we’d both appreciate you checking out our trailer. You can find the show on YouTubeAppleSpotify, and Goodpods.

Subscribing to the show and leaving reviews make a huge difference, especially when you’re just starting out. Thanks in advance for your support!
